fierce pussy is an art collective formed in New York City in 1991 through AIDS activism and LGBTQ+ organizing. The collective used low-tech, low-budget tools—typewriters, photocopies, found photographs, and personal images—to bring lesbian visibility directly into public space. Core founding members Nancy Brooks Brody, Joy Episalla, Zoe Leonard, and Carrie Yamaoka began working together again in 2008.
